TOTEM

So you have just purchased your first major sculpture piece - a Giant Squid Sleeping Bag - and you are starting to wonder if you are out of your art-loving mind. When I am a *cough* famous NY artist you can be secure in the knowledge that you secured this magnificent beast for a mere $800.

On the other hand, maybe you just feel like storing this guy in your shed for me for 2 years free of charge?

CACTI!

For those of you who visited these guys at Alice Euphemia earlier this year, now is your chance to take home part of this psychedelic cactus garden.

If you want a closer look, they are currently sunning themselves in the Rose Chong window.

BOOTS -- SOLD! --

-- SOLD! --

BOOTS!  SIZE 10

My uncle is a bootmaker, he's been doing it since he was 16. His father was a bootmaker, and so was his grandfather. 'Harold Boots' they're called, made locally in Melbourne.

I've owned these boots for a few years. You've probably seen me wearing them. They're a damn attractive boot, and have a little flap round the side to cover the elastic. They've been re-soled within the year.

Retail at $320, selling for $40 (the leather on one boot has started to crack). Sure to make a man of you.

ELECTRIC HEATER

Remember those cold, wintry nights?

This oil/water heater was purchased for $99. It has a timer and many heat settings. It also claims to be environmentally friendly..... hmmm.

---THE STOOL IS SOLD!!!---

$15

BIKE! -- SOLD !--

--SOLD!--

This bike is awesome. Tough, simple and reliable.

It's an SE Draft from around four years ago.

Single-speed (not fixed gear), so no messing around with fiddly gears.

Probably the best thing is the wheels. The original incarnation of this bike had terrible rims. Within four months I'd broken a total of 12 spokes on the rear wheel, costing over $50 to fix them each time. Eventually I bit the bullet and bought two new rims for $120 each. Great job, Campbell!

But the tyres also sucked. Punctures, tyre splits and general frustration. So around six months ago I bough a set of Schwalbe Marathon reinforced tyres for $80 each. They have a super tough inner-layer that prevents almost everything from getting into the inner tube. They also have a reflective strip on the sides so you'll be super safe at night. Great job, Campbell!

The bike also comes with a combination lock, a rear rack to ensure you'll never get a sweaty back from carrying a bag, pedals that don't cut up your precious leather soles, two lights from ebay and a choice of three stylish helmets! Did I mention you can pump the tyres up at a petrol station? Win!

All this for a bargain $140 ono!

DRAWERS! --SOLD!--

-- SOLD! --

Antique? Maybe not. But this bit of bedroom furniture has given many of my previous bedrooms a bit of.... non-Ikea-ness. Solid wood (anybody know what sort?) and a good keeper of fish.

$35 ono.

BIG SHAG PILE RUG!! -- SOLD! --

-- SOLD! --

Big! White! Wool! Shag pile! Wow!

220 x 160 cm. A few bald spots, though nothing bad enough to prevent it from being our lounge-room carpet for five months.

Purchased for $50 for art, selling for $25 ono.

(Note: The sun has made the rug look pinkish in the middle -- it's an even cream in real life... damn optics)

SURFBOARD! -- SOLD! --

-- SOLD! --

Dinged to the max cause it rips so hard, kinda like the way I live my life. But I've been barrelled on this board so it couldn't be that bad.

6'3''. I forget the width and thickness, but suited to waves up to 6ft. It's also super cheap!

$30 ono.

PLANTS!! --SOLD--

Welcome to the fickle world of plants. I've watched plants thrive, and I've watched them wilt and ultimately perish. It can be a humbling experience.

We have a number of much-loved plants in various stages of life. May a loving home beckon.

1 - Japanese Aralia! -$10- SOLD! (Julia P)

2,3 - Jemila's Terrarium! Upside-down fern with moss. -$25- SOLD! (Zoe)

4 - Quince Blossom. Was attacked this spring so was pruned back. Beautiful last spring. -$10- SOLD (Ronan)

5,6 - Amazing, broad leaves. Love watching them unfurl every few months. -$10- SOLD! (Julia P)

7 - Monsteria for your stool! -$10- SOLD! (Helen G)

8 - Watch out Totoro, the ladder plant is coming for you! -$10- SOLD- (Ronan)

9 - Japanese Maple. Had a hard life but is finally showing some beauty. Will be magnificent in Autumn. -$20 ono-. SOLD! (Mitch B)

10 - Maiden-hair fern. Loves a warm, moist environment. -$10- SOLD (Gram)

11 - Indoor tree! You'll rarely find such a large plant suited to the indoors! Native to the tropical rainforest, best to keep it where the sun warms the room. There's also a pretty constant fight with mealy bugs, so vigilance is the key. I've gone through periods of neglect, but it bounces back eventually. -$10- SOLD (Ronan)

12 - Chicken and hen fern. Native to Australia, and probably the toughest fern of the lot. Was attacked a few months ago by some black bugs like mealys, so it's a little worse for wear. But like any plant, love and undivided attention is all you need to give... easy! -$5- SOLD (Ronan)

13 - Jade succulent. Not in the best condition, but a little care and it'll shine again. -$5- SOLD (Ronan)

14 - We also have around 15 terracota, glazed and plastic pots just lying around. Happy to sell them for 50c - $5 each.
